Getting ready for next season

Well, after three seasons of training for Xterra triathlons by myself, I’ve decided I don’t really know what the hell I’m doing. So I’ve begged my friends at Mile High Multisport (www.milehighmultisport.com) to coach me. Lucky for me, Pete and Kathy Alfino agreed. So Kathy Alfino is going to serve as my coach. I can’t […]

Getting ready for Xterra Lory

After none of the kids slept at the hotel in Breckenridge, I decided it would be better to get up at 4:45 AM on Sunday to drive to Fort Collins. This instead of staying at the Marriott in FC the night before. This is my last race of the season, so I’m looking forward to […]

Easy fat loss by going gluten-free

I decided to get strict with the gluten free diet about 4 weeks ago. I simply cut all wheat out of my diet, like I’ve suggested to so many of my Natural Treatment Program patients. I dropped about 6 pounds of fat since then without doing anything else differently. Granted, I’m still training for the […]

Remembering Dr. Phil Bammer

I found out yesterday (8/9/10) that my friend & colleague Dr. Phil Bammer died suddenly of a heart attack on Saturday (8/7). Phil was a good friend of mine. The kind of buddy who understood a foul-mouthed guy from New Jersey like me. He was definitely a person whose professional opinion I valued and a […]

Return of the Kettlebell (2011)

Update – Dragondoor says I’d have to start back at Level 1, which I think is ridiculous. So I’m not sure I’m going to bother recertfiying with them. Have the swing, clean, snatch, press, get up, and squat changed so much that I need to pay $1800 to re-learn them? Original post: I’ve decided that […]

Xterra Beaver Creek 2010

Me – happy to have beaten Dave 😉 Xterra Beaver Creek (sport course for me) was this weekend. I hung out with and raced with my buddy Dave Kupernik and his friend Tom. Dave and I have a little buddy rivalry developing, and even though we’re friends, we made no secret of the fact we […]

Getting ready for the Creek

Xterra Beaver Creek is this Saturday & I’m gearing up. I’m pretty sure I can knock a bunch of time off of last year, so we’ll see. I may try to get out for an easy ride today. We’ll see

Training July 13, 2010

Still kind of beat up from the ass kicking I took up at WInter Park. So I went for a slow 5-mile run just to get everything moving. Nothing seems to hurt during the run, so that’s a good thing.

Training 7/9-7/11/2010

Ok, on Friday 7/9/10, I did a “quick” 1600 meters in the pool. Strange as it may sound, I think the swim is now my strongest of the three. I guess that’s because they can’t make me swim uphill in the races. Saturday 7/10/10 – Winter Park Valley Point-to-Point Mountain bike race. That sounds really […]
