Frequently Asked Questions
What can you expect at your first appointment?
Brief Paperwork: Upon entering the office, we have some brief paperwork for you to fill out (You can also download this from our site and fill it out ahead of time). The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition. If you have insurance, our office staff will make a copy of your insurance card to check your coverage for you (we file all the paperwork for you).
History and Examination: In order to determine what’s causing your symptoms, your doctor will ask you various questions related to your health history and your condition. Next, a number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent.
Same Day Treatment: Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, patients will generally be provided with their first treatment during this first appointment. This may include Active Release Techniques, chiropractic adjustments, and / or physical therapy exercises.
Follow-up visits: Based on the doctor’s recommendations, your next visits will be scheduled before you leave. This helps ensure that you get the appointment times that are the most convenient for you before our doctors’ busy schedules fill up.
Home Instructions: You will get instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home, both directly from the doctor and by email. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches. And of course, please feel free to ask your doctor or the staff any questions that you may have. Our purpose is to serve you and to help you.

If you are in severe pain and for some reason can not get a hold of us, you should go to the emergency room.
Can Chiropractic and / or Active Release® fix everything?
Unfortunately, the combination of Chiropractic and Active Release® is not a magic cure all. It can treat most problems that people bring to Denver Chiropractic Center. Active Release is the best method there is for treating soft tissue problems. Chiropractic adjustments have been shown to help relive pain, improve mobility, and improve the function of the nervous system. Combining these two approaches with physical therapy allows us to treat most conditions, from headaches to foot pain. At Denver Chiropractic Center, we will always tell you if we don’t think our services are right for your case.
Do you see pregnant patients?
Dr. Hyman now recommends that pregnant patients seek out a certified practitioner of Webster Technique during their pregnancy. Dr. Hyman is NOT Webster Certified.
